I have worked in IT for the last 20+ years, the past 15 of which have concentrated on solving and preventing future problems on Oracle databases from versions 7 through 11G on UNIX, Windows and Linux platforms.
My clients have ranged from implementing databases for FTSE 100 companies with 24*7 requirements to helping cross train software teams from other technologies onto Oracle - a number of examples can be found in Key Projects.
Communication skills are just as important as technical skills. I pride myself that many managers have thanked me for dealing with and communicating technical issues in terms of their direct impact on the business.
I enjoy both doing and training. Since 1998 I have run Oracle training courses for Learning Tree International including Introductory, DBA and advanced SQL courses. As well as formal training, many of my assignments include coaching and mentoring of staff. Being asked back to work on future projects says all that is necessary.
My motto is 'best practice keeps the pager silent'. You can see examples of these under the case studies.
